How to Reset Windows 7 Password If I Forgot?

Your computer serves as your storage for all your works.  If you have not created a backup file, there is a big possibility that you will lose all of them if a computer virus attacks your computer. In some instances, other people using your computer might accidentally delete important files. To avoid these things from happening, it is highly recommended that you create a password for your Windows 7.  With the kind of files that you keep on your computer, creating an administrator account with the corresponding password will keep all your files safe and secure. However, if ever you forget your password, you will not be able to open your computer and do any work. This can be frustrating especially if you urgently need a file that you keep on your computer.

Four Ways to Reset Windows 7 Password

First Way: using iSeePassword to Reset your Win password.

There are several ways to reset your Windows 7 password if ever you forgot it. You can use the iSeePassword Windows Password Recovery to reset your password, use a reset disk for Windows 7, use lusrmgr.msc, or follow command prompts to reset your password. If you want to use the iSeePassword Windows Password Recovery, just follow this step to reset your forgotten Windows 7 password.

First of all, you need to download it first to your computer.  After downloading the Windows password recovery program, you need to burn a DVD or CD, or USB flash drive and set your computer to boot from any of these devices.  You can see the main Windows of the home screen.

When you insert the CD or USB flash drive on the computer, a window will pop up and show the account names.  Select the account with a lost password and reset it. You can now open your Windows 7 by using your new password.

If you forgot Windows 7 password, iSeePassword Windows password would be your first choice.

Second Way: Reset Your Win 7 Password with Reset Disk

Another way of resetting Windows 7 password is by using the Reset Password Disk for Windows 7.  The first step is to log in to your account using whatever password you can remember. When you are told that you have entered the wrong password, just hit “ok” so that the dialog box will close. A prompt that says “Reset Windows Password” will appear. Click it.  After that, the disk for resetting Windows 7 password should be inserted. Follow the commands to reset your password.

Third Way: Reset Your Win 7 Password with lusrmgr.msc

Using the lusrmgr.msc and following prompts and commands to reset password will only be useful if you have another administrator account on the same computer. To use the lusrmgr.msc, open your PC by using your other administrator account. Type “lusrmgr.msc” to start the computer.  A list of user accounts will appear. Click your account with the missing password and click set. You can now enter your new password.  If you have none, you cannot use these two methods because these require you to log in to your computer using another account.

Fourth F: Reset Your Win 7 Password with Command Prompts

Using “follow command prompts” to reset your password would also require you to log in using an existing administrator account. Then, just follow the command prompts until you are asked to reset the password. Forgetting your Windows 7 password should not cause you to panic. Remember that there are answers to all problems you encounter while using your Windows 7 computer. There are plenty of ways to fix the problem, and surely, a solution will be available for you.
