Micromax is really doing a great job these days. Firstly, the launch of the Canvas Series, then expanding it to the HD version, after that -launching the first ever blow-to-open smartphone, and then this device; the first from the Canvas Turbo Series. But the question that comes to my mind is what’s with this turbo thing. Let’s just find out with this review. And yeah, let me tell you, the brand ambassador of this hone is no one else but our own Wolverine guy: Hugh Jackman.
Design:
The form is yet to be revealed but as the first look says it’s a simple to go. Canvas 4 design with the same built but use of Anodised Aluminium has been confirmed. The phone has a slight at the back from the top and the bottom which makes it quite handy to use. The volume rockers are placed on the right side with the power button above them. The brand logo can also be seen at the back.
Overall, the look attracts you the very moment you see the gadget. The curves are basic yet ease to use, when you deal with a large display.
Display:
The phone has been developed keeping in mind the negative points of the Canvas 4. Hence, it comes with the all-new 5 inch Full HD IPS display with the latest CGS technology. CGS stands for Continuous Grain Silicon, which makes the ppi density to 441 and hence the more clear image.
That’s not all, the display also gears with the NM2 wide angle technology that enables you the wide angle display even during the daylight.
Processor and UI:
The device is all powered by the same MediaTek MT6589T Quad Core Processor that runs on 1.5 GHz clock speed. The Canvas Turbo also holds the 2GB RAM which is quite satisfying with UI. If we talk about the graphics then VR Graphics controls it all.
The device operates on the latest version of the Android, the Jelly Bean v4.2.1. And with the features like the Blow to unlock (open), makes it a whole new phone. After signing the contract with the Blackberry, Micromax is now releasing the phones of the canvas series with BBM pre-installed in them. That’s something we need to look for.
Camera:
The forefront thing you should watch for a smartphone, if you are such a camera freak. The device comes with a 13 MP BSI sensor camera, which gives you the option of clicking the best pics almost similar to the Carl Zeiss the snaps. The front camera is also not far behind, a 5MP itself, which makes it easier to attend video calls.
The other camera apps also give a different feel, if you are not satisfied with this as such. You can even erase the unwanted images, from what you have clicked.
Performance and Conclusion:
The performance of the smartphone is just awesome; the 2000mAh battery is worth promising that gives you 105 hours of stand-by time and 7 hours of talk time, which is too much for such a display. The most sad thing about the phone is it’s memory; only 16 GB internal storage, without any card slots or as such.
By far we can say that, the phone is worth buying because of the price range and the capabilities it offers in that much amount. A thumbs up from our side.
